Islam and ignorance go hand in hand in western civilization. It is my duty to make dawah and dispel this ignorance.
Life is struggle. Sometimes violent, sometimes external material, sometimes within the self like will power and desires.
Accepting Islam is a struggle to interpret what the prophetic tradition is best for the community applying sunnah and practicing the required deeds. Also committing good deeds.
I have struggled with religion from as long as I can remember. I’ve always followed tawheed or faith in a central creator god, but applying religion in daily life has been a struggle.
At age 13 I began studying king fu and Zen Buddhism. Fundamentalists say that buddha was a false god and sometimes an idol. Some people would even go so far to say that Buddhists are condemned to hell.
But we are reminded of sunnah that states not to mock another’s religion. In the Christian Bible we are taught to love our enemies. So I studied Buddhism.
What I say may be controversial. It may seem heterodoxical “innovation” deemed heretical, but I believe Buddha was a prophet sent to guide mankind. He was a spiritual relative of Muhammad pbuh in that regard.
I also believe that Odin the norse Germanic “all father” is a prophet. His words are recorded in the havamal.
The havamal is a pithy book of proverbs and poetry said by odin himself.
There are many prophets. As many prophets as nations.
Applying outside philosophy to religion is incumbent upon all mankind. As soon as you close your mind and harden the heart you are on a road to suffering.
Rituals, initiation rites, meditation and other spiritual practice are the hygiene that every believer must have to be spiritually pure, holy and righteous.
